What Are the Steps to Safely Box and Send a Wedding Dress for Preservation?
Once your wedding dress preservation kit arrives, the next step is to carefully pack and send your gown to us. You can expect your water and crush-resistant shipping kit to arrive at your door within 2 to 5 business days of placing your order. From there, all you need to do is follow the instructions inside the box and send it back.
Check What's Inside the Kit
Once your shipping kit arrives, thoroughly inspect the contents. It should have a reinforced crush-proof and water-resistant corrugated shipping container, a waterproof poly shipping bag, commercial-grade packaging tape, a prepaid UPS shipping label, an order form, an alternative delivery form, and fabric-safe stain stickers.
Confirm Your Order Details
Check your pre-filled order form and confirm all your information is accurate, including your return address. You can also use the form to request upgrades, add an alternative return address, or leave a note for our team.
Mark Any Stains With Stickers
Mark any areas that need extra care using the provided fabric-safe stain stickers. Your kit includes detailed instructions for placing them correctly.
Pack Your Wedding Gown and Accessories
Carefully place your gown into the waterproof poly shipping bag. You may also include accessories such as veils, trains, handkerchiefs, and tiaras. Once everything is inside, seal the bag securely and place it into the outer shipping container.
Seal the Box Properly
Seal the outer shipping container firmly using the included commercial-grade packaging tape. Make sure every seam is fully closed before moving on.
Your Wedding Gown Is Ready to Ship
Your wedding gown is now packed and ready to ship. Adhere your prepaid UPS shipping label to the outside of the box and drop it off at your nearest UPS location, or schedule a pickup at a time that works for you.

Will your shipping container secure my dress efficiently?
Yes. We’ve already shipped more than 3,000,000 wedding dresses, and all of them fitted our shipping container perfectly.
Is it possible to get more shipping insurance after the packages arrive at my place?
Yes! In fact, it's smart to pick up extra shipping insurance right when you're getting your Kit on our website. But if you miss that, the paperwork in your Kit lets you add more insurance later on.
Can you ship my gown/dress to a different address than my Kit’s address?
Sure! You'll find paperwork in there where you can tick off whether you want your gown sent to the same address you used for ordering your Kit, or if you'd prefer to send it elsewhere. (Only valid for addresses in the continental US.)
What can I send in with my gown? Is there any additional cost for other items?
You can add veils, trains, handkerchiefs, tiaras, and more. And, If you want more, it's just $10.00 extra per item. Things like slips, shoes, and silk bouquets that cost a bit more ($35 each).
If my wedding dress requires extra repair, can you do that?
Yep, there's a checkbox and a spot where you can jot down any extra fixes you think your gown might need, like fixing beads or patching up a tear.
Can you send the paperwork for my gown to an address outside of the US?
Due to the size and weight of the display box, we only ship within the US, excluding Alaska and Hawaii. International customers can still send their dresses for cleaning and preservation but need a US address for return shipping and must handle international shipping themselves.
Do I be notified when my dress reaches your facility?
Absolutely! You get an email to confirm we've got the dress safe and sound. It might take us a couple of weeks from when you send it in to get everything sorted and logged into our system.
Do I need to use my own tape for the shipping container?
You can. It's totally fine to use your own shipping tape. Just make sure it's heavy-duty, which is meant for shipping within the country.
